Partenza started the way most meaningful projects do — with a problem we lived ourselves. When Rafael and Debora began their own Italian citizenship application through jure sanguinis, they quickly discovered how frustrating the process could be: mountains of vital records, strict consulate formatting requirements, and very few translators who truly understood the difference between a document that gets accepted and one that gets sent back.

Rafael, a native Italian and Portuguese speaker raised between Brazil and Italy, had both the language fluency and the cultural literacy to do the job properly. What began as translating documents for their own family soon became requests from friends, then from strangers who found them through word of mouth. Ten years and hundreds of successful applications later, Partenza is what that experience became.

Debora manages client communications, document logistics, and delivery — making sure every person who reaches out gets a clear answer, a fair quote, and a smooth experience from the first email to the final PDF. Together they have worked with applicants across the United States, from New York to Los Angeles, helping families reconnect with their Italian roots one document at a time.
