Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

1. About the Service

Partenza provides professional translation services for U.S. civil registration records (birth, marriage, death, and civil union certificates) from English into Italian, intended for use at Italian consulates in the United States. The service is operated by Rafael Cecilio, reachable at rafael@partenza.co.

2. How It Works

The service follows a simple, fully digital process:

  • Submit your documents and information through the request form on this website
  • Receive a detailed quote by email within 24 hours. No commitment required
  • Confirm the quote and pay via Zelle or Venmo, details sent by email
  • Work begins immediately after payment is confirmed
  • Receive your translated PDF by email within the agreed timeframe

3. Quote & Commitment

The quote is sent with no obligation. Nothing is charged and no work begins until you explicitly confirm the quote and complete payment.

Take the time you need. The quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is sent. If you have questions before confirming, contact Partenza at rafael@partenza.co.

4. Payment

Payments are made via Zelle or Venmo. After you confirm the quote, payment details are sent by email. Work begins after payment is confirmed. All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and cover the scope described in your quote. No hidden fees.

5. Delivery

Standard delivery is 3 to 7 business days from payment confirmation. The exact timeline is specified in your quote based on the volume and complexity of your documents.

Rush delivery may be available for urgent requests. Reach out by email before confirming the quote and Partenza will do its best to accommodate.

6. Translation Quality & Free Revision

Each translation is prepared following the formatting and terminology standards expected by Italian consulates in the U.S.

If the consulate requests adjustments to a delivered translation, Partenza provides one free revision until the consulate raises no further requests for adjustment. The free revision covers corrections to the existing translation. Requests for new documents, additional certificates, or changes outside the original scope may be quoted separately.

7. Payment & Cancellation

Translation is personal, manual work. Once you confirm the quote and payment is processed, your project is opened and work begins immediately.

  • Before confirming the quote: no charge. You are under no obligation until you confirm.
  • After confirming the quote, before payment: no charge. Payment has not been processed.
  • After payment is confirmed: no refund is available. Work on your translation is already underway.
Before approving your quote, take time to review your documents and timeline. Partenza is happy to answer any questions before you confirm. Once payment is processed, translation has begun and Partenza cannot issue a refund.

8. Document Handling & Security

Your documents are transmitted over HTTPS, stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access limited exclusively to the translator working on your project, and automatically deleted 90 days after your translation is delivered.

For full details on how your data is collected, used, and protected, see the Privacy Policy.

9. Consulate Acceptance

Partenza prepares each translation following the published guidelines of Italian consulates in the U.S. and updates its practices as those guidelines evolve.

Partenza is not responsible for document rejection in cases where:

  • The original document contains irregularities, inconsistencies, or errors not apparent at the time of translation
  • The consulate has specific requirements that were not communicated at the time of the request
  • Consulate policies change after the translation is delivered
  • The client submits documents to the wrong consulate or for an ineligible process

If you are unsure about your consulate's specific requirements, Partenza recommends contacting them directly before placing your order.

10. Intellectual Property

Completed translations are licensed to the client for the personal, non-commercial use described in the request. Partenza retains the underlying copyright over the translated work. Translations may not be resold, redistributed, or repurposed without prior written consent.

11. Privacy

The collection, use, and protection of your personal data and documents are governed by the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Requests submitted before any update are governed by the terms in effect on the date of the request.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms or your order: rafael@partenza.co. We respond to all inquiries within 48 hours.
